Aikens Funeral Home was founded by Thomas and Yvonne Aikens on February 20, 1980 with a strong commitment to provide excellent, dignified and respectful service to the community.

Still family owned, Aikens is now operated by a third generation of family funeral directors.  We continue to remain strong in our commitment to the families we assist, as well as, build and maintain impactful relationships by supporting local events, charities and activities in and around Tampa Bay.

Thomas and Yvonne have retired, but only after grooming their daughter, La Cheryl (Licensed Funeral Director In Charge and President of the company).

LaCheryl Aikens-Guzman enjoys continued support from her parents and works daily with other family members and staff to provide excellent professional services to families.

A graduate from The University of Florida and the Mortuary School at Saint Petersburg College.  She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; and former member of Jack N’ Jill of America.

Aikens Funeral Home is also a proud member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, National Funeral Directors Association and the Florida Morticians Association.    She is the Chairperson of the Florida Morticians Association Education Department.  This appointment affords her the opportunity to gain knowledge of new products, developments and services that she can introduce to families and implement in the services we provide.

La Cheryl believes every life deserves a beautiful tribute, whether a funeral ceremony, memorial ceremony or a feast of remembrance.  She is committed to being a resource to the community.
